Biostimulants are substances or microorganisms that modulate physiological and biochemical processes in plants, acting through different mechanisms than fertilizers and phytosanitary products.
Biostimulants are complementary to crop nutrition and protection. They are applied with the objective of maximizing the genetic potential of the plant, causing changes in hormonal status, activation of metabolic processes, improvement in nutritional efficiency, stimulation of development and/or improvement in response to abiotic stress.
The use of biostimulants offers the following benefits:
They contribute to more sustainable production, as they improve metabolism, inducing better crop yields and quality.
They improve the absorption and efficient use of other essential inputs, especially fertilizers, reducing expense on these inputs.
They increase plant tolerance and help it recover from abiotic stress conditions.
